The Turtle and The Rabbit

       One day a rabbit was boasting about how fast he could run. He was laughing at the turtle for being so slow. Much to the rabbit’s surprise, the turtle challenged him to a race. The rabbit thought this was a good joke and accepted the challenge. The fox was to be the umpire of the race. As the race began, the rabbit raced way ahead of the turtle, just like everyone thought.

   
      The rabbit got to the halfway point and could not see the turtle anywhere. He was hot and tired and decided to stop and take a short nap. Even if the turtle passed him, he would be able to race to the finish line ahead of him. All this time the turtle kept walking step by step by step. He never quit no matter how hot or tired he got. He just kept going.

     

      However, the rabbit slept longer than he had thought and woke up. He could not see the turtle anywhere! He went at full speed to the finish line but found the turtle there waiting for him.

My Last Holiday

TRIP  TO HOLY LAND

    Last holiday, I and my family went umrah together. This will be my second trip of umrah. We took Multazam Utama Tours as the service of our umrah trip. First, on December 22nd 2019 we went to Jakarta at 4.30 p.m. My grandparents from my mother and my parents went there by a travel mini bus, while I, my sisters, and my grandparents from my father went there by our own car. We will stayed in Ibis Styles Hotel near Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

   We finally arriving at the hotel at 9.30 p.m. We had dinner at the restaurant. The foods are so delicious. Then, we went back to the hotel room and got some rest. 

   In the next morning, at 10 a.m., we'd checked-out from to hotel and prepared to go to the airport. We went there by the hotel bus, while I and my grandparents went there by our car. 

   After arriving at Terminal 3 Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, we went to Pepper Lunch restaurant. The committee of our travel chose it as our gathering point. There, we collected our luggages and had some lunch while the committee explained the agenda of this trip. For your information, my family and I took the 9 days trip with 10 other people. So our group had 19 members, include the muthawif. What is muthawif? Muthawif is a person who guide you when you do an umrah. It's like the leader of the group.

     We will go to Madinah at 3.40 p.m. with Garuda Indonesia airlines. It takes  9 hours long to get to Madinah. We arriving at King Abdulaziz Airport in Madinah at 10.30 p.m. local time. After taking our luggages, we went to the hotel by bus. The bus is really big and clean. Our hotel is at Anwar Movenpick Hotel. It's a five stars hotel. 

      The distance between airport and hotel is quite far. We finally arrived at the hotel at 11.30 p.m.  Then, we checked-in to the hotel room. I and my fathers' room are in 10096, means that it's on 10th floor. When i look out the window, the view is straight to the city of Madinah and it's so beautiful. I feel blessed that finally i can come back to this beautiful land. 

      At 3.30 p.m., I and my family went off to Nabawi Mosque to do some qiyamul lail and subuh prayer. The distance is about 50 meters from our hotel. It's 9 degrees Celcius outside. I feel like i will freeze. Hahaha, relax just kidding. I saw the giant umbrella and the lights from the mosque and MasyaAllah....it feels like a dream. 

       At 9 p.m., we will have a city tour by bus to the historical places in Madinah. First spot is Quba Mosque. In hadits said that if you do prayer on that mosque, you will have deeds like doing umrah. So, we did dhuha prayer there and took some photos together. Second spot, we went to Date Palm Garden.

CONVERSATION : CONGRATULATE & COMPLIMENT

AULIA          : Hey Niqo, long time no see!

NIQO            : Hey Aul, it's been a long time! When were the last time we met?

AULIA         : I don't know, maybe 4 or 5 years ago, I guess. What do you do now, Niq? Do you still playing basketball?

NIQO            : Of course. My team and I just won a gold medal for a national tournament last week.

AULIA         : WOW! That's great! Congratulations! No wonder you've grown so much taller now.

NIQO            : Thank you, Aul. This is the result of my hardwork.

AULIA          : Sure, you deserve it!

NIQO             : How about you? What do you do now?

AULIA          : Well, right now I'm preparing for my scholarship at Oxford University.

NIQO          : That's fantastic! Congratulations for you! I know it wasn't easy and I hope you can study well in there.

AULIA          : Thank you so much! Anyway, how many times do you practice basketball in a week?

NIQO            : Usually I practice 2 or 3 times a week. But if there's a tournament coming, I'll practice everyday since a week before the tournament.

AULIA          : It must be very exhausting. But that's okay, because every big dreams takes big efforts too, right?

NIQO             : Yeah, that's right. Basketball is my passion, so I always enjoy every seconds I play it.

AULIA          : It's true, because I'm enjoy my study too! 

NIQO            : Anyway, how did you do to get that scholarship?

AULIA         : I studied hard at school, I joined science olympics with my school team and most of it we got gold medal. I also joined private lesson after school. After that, I studied again the lessons that I've got before I go to bed.

NIQO            : Really?! That's insane! You did that everyday?

AULIA          : Not really, but if I got empty times, I will do that.

NIQO            : Wow! But don't forget to pray, eat, and take enough rest, Ul!

AULIA        : Thanks, you too, and don't forget to ask for prayer to your parents, cause that is the most important thing. 

*Niqo's phone is ringing*

NIQO            : Yes, I agree. By the way, I have to go home right now. My parents are waiting to me.

AULIA          : Ohh okay. It's so good to meet you again, Niq! See you soon!

NIQO            : Bye, see you later!
